WowKeren - Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) tahun ini tetap digelar di Jepang meskipun hubungan antara Jepang dan Korea masih sengit. MAMA akan resmi digelar di Nagoya Dome pada 4 Desember.

Pemungutan suara dimulai pada 24 Oktober pukul 18.00 waktu setempat dan akan diakhiri sehari sebelum upacara penghargaan pada 3 Desember pukul 11:59 malam waktu setempat. Pemenang untuk "Artist of the Year" dan "Artist Category Awards" akan dihitung dengan 30% hasil voting, 30% panel juri, 20% penjualan lagu digital, dan 20% penjualan lagu fisik.

Sementara nominasi "Song of the Year" dan "Song Genre Awards" akan dihitung dengan 20% hasil voting, 40% panel juri, 30% penjualan lagu digital, dan 20% penjualan lagu fisik. Kategori "Album of the Year' akan diputuskan oleh panel juri 40% dan penjualan album fisik 60%.

Kategori "Worldwide Icon of the Year" dan "Worldwide Fan's Choice Top 10" akan diputuskan dari 60% hasil voting, 20% hasil media sosial, dan 20% penayangan video musik global.
